About Mailscreen
|
The present Mailscreen service needs to be improved in several ways. Here is a partial list:
-
The service should offer customers a "refund" button, a quick and easy way
to refund the payment
made by an unlisted sender. Given this feature, we may describe the "payment"
better if we call it "bond". A customer would probably want to refund this bond
if the message came from an old friend who had somehow found her
Mailscreen address. But a customer would probably want to keep the bond when
she judged that the compensation was fair for the trouble of looking at a
worthless or offensive message.
-
Offer other ways, in addition to PayPal, for unlisted senders to post bonds.
-
Offer temporary, automatically generated email addresses to customers. A customer could ask for an additional address which would be good for some specified time interval. During that time the email address would be open to the world, and any mail addressed to it would go into that customer's mailbox. But after that time the email address would revert to a nonexistent address, to which no one could send a message.
